Associate Professor David Och is the Geotechnical Lead for Sydney Metro, supporting the City & Southwest and West projects.
David has more than 20 years in tunnelling and engineering geology. David is often involved in the high level review and assessment of projects, particularly with respect to design and concept design. He has provided strategic advice on a number of national and international projects including Coopernook to Herons Creek Alliance, Hunter Expressway Alliance, Kempsey Bypass (piling), Ramu II Hydro in PNG.
David maintains an active research capacity with collaboration with the University of Adelaide, University of Technology Sydney, University of NSW, University of Newcastle, ANU, Kyoto University, Geological Survey of NSW, RMIT and CSIRO. He also retains an expansive geological/geotechnical GIS based database, which has been used in all the projects for which he has been involved.
